The weather is dipping and love it or hate it, Summer is passed and Fall is present! Time to pull out the bins and swap out the seasonal clothes…. or…. maybe save yourself the hassle and go shopping for new ones instead??? As they say, time is money- sounds like an even trade to me!
We are in the midst of the most momentous season in fashion, a time when designers pull out all the stops and show us the full extent of their creative brilliance. This season designers were loving on feminine prowess. There is power in our womanliness, and the inspired runways were decorated with emboldened fashions.

Top Fashion Trends for Fall 2022
Varsity Athletic
High School halls took over the runway with jocks at center stage. Red white & blue Varsity stripes were omnipresent, and kilts, ties, baseballs caps, and knee high socks brought a novel athletic energy to the high end styles of fashion week.

Cutouts
The cutout trend is not going away- if anything the scissors are getting even snippier on us! Peekaboo detailing knew no limits- highlighting necklines, torsos, shoulders, and even hips.

Long Silhouettes
“Your dresses should be tight enough to show you’re a woman and loose enough to prove you’re a lady” - Designers were in agreement with Edith Head’s mantra for Fall 2022 fashions. Long uniform profiles highlighted the female form without being overtly sexual, fabrics skimming the body as opposed to hugging them.

Corsets
Fashion being the ultimate devil’s advocate, many designers did not shy away from the overtly sexual. It’s all about the corset this season. And yes, many of the looks would have your spouse pouring the wine and lighting the candles- but a wealth of the corseted styles were beautiful head turning publicly acceptable interpretations.

Hoods
Hoods aren’t just for sweatshirts! While hoods can sometimes have a bit of a sloppy lazy feel, the runway looks were anything but. Hoods were elegant on ladylike dresses, and served as a vehicle for originality on chic separates.

Vivid Red
Not dark red. Not soft red. Bright, vampy, turn every head in the restaurant who’s-that-lady-red. The iconic womanly hue dazzled up and down the runways. If this color doesn’t say we are confident and in charge I don’t know what does, and I am here for it!

Bows
I am a self-proclaimed girly girl, so my eyes lit up as I saw the ribbon of bows decorating the runways. Pretty frocks adorned dramatic and delicate bows alike. The ultimate feminine accent if there ever was one!

Sky High Boots
The higher the better. Boots were slack, tight, shiny, matte, colorful, neutral, flat, and high heeled- but the designers agreed that for Fall 2022 boots should be thigh kissing. Paired with short dresses and skirts, the shoe of choice felt sexy and exciting.

Puff Sleeves
Dramatic sleeves can do everything for a fashion piece. Voluminous sleeves added considerable power to blouses and dresses, looking decidedly modern but nodding to vintage feminine fashions at the same time.

Sparkling Black Evening Wear
Talk about a sea of elegance. The models were visions in shimmering black dresses that adored the female form. A timeless trend, an investment into a lovely sparkling black dress will carry you through the years.

Fabric Takeover Trends
Denim on Denim
If you’re going to steer more casual and rock denim, go all in on it. America’s favorite fabric was embraced to create denim couture all over fashion week. Denim washes were complimenting in their pairings for pulled together purposeful presentations.

Leather
Not a little bit of leather. More like super fashionable dominatrix level leather. Layer upon layer of leather was styled together for a strong and in charge fashion message.

Velvet
Crushed velvet got a special spotlight, but all velvet is encouraged! Velvet turned simple silhouettes into showstoppers in outerwear, suiting, dresses, and separates alike. The fabric is the epitome of luxe meets cozy- essentially all I need in this world!

Outerwear Trends
Bomber Jackets
Top Gun flew in trends for the ladies too! The bomber jacket was often seen in soft leather, but designers also featured this silhouette in luxe fabrics for a cool juxtaposition. This coat is the perfect weight for transitional weather and cute to boot.

Cocoon Coats
Round in shape, heavy on the shoulders, and not shying away from texture overload. Personally I love these coats for evenings out with their old timey glamour vibes, but the fleecey fabrications are an amazingly fresh take for everyday Fall coats as well!

Trenches with a Twist
Who doesn’t love a classic trench? Apparently the designers this season! The trenches on the runway were anything but expected, featuring novel fabrics, colors, prints, and shake it up silhouette detailing.

Robe Vibes
Not your actual robe. Don’t even think about it. But a luxe fashionable outerwear piece that is as cozy as a robe? Yeah, I can snuggle up with that.
