10 Mens Must Do Trends for Spring Summer 2023
Sure, maybe the extent of your fashion knowledge is that shorts are better for hot days and pants are better for cold days. That doesn’t mean you don’t want to look pretty damn good. We hear you, we know you, we married you. This is an elementary fashion trend guide for guys who want to look a little more relevant with a lot more help. Below find 10 trends for Spring Summer that are minimal risk and maximum reward- especially for the ladies.
Sets
I have to lead with the trend champion of the Men’s Spring Runways- matching sets. It doesn’t get any easier to put an outfit together than this. For an approachable take on the trend, choose a color and go head to toe for a monotone set. Feeling extra stylish? Try a print in a relaxed fit set for a nod to the street-style approved pajama look. And of course, there’s the tracksuit for those of you who want to give the appearance you’re about to break a sweat on the court.

Denim on Denim
The masters of black tie, the Canadians, made a grand appearance at fashion week. Denim on denim in any and every wash makes for easy statement style. Tip: Stylish shoes are key for a look that is more smart street style, less Walmart parking lot hang.
Relaxed Suiting and Separates
It was all about the easy fit in suits and suiting separates, an effortless masculine vibe that will turn heads. Pairing a relaxed blazer with a basic t-shirt or a slightly unbuttoned collared shirt looks sharp and elevated, but is still casual enough for the day to day.
Utility Shirt Coat
The shirt coat continues to dominate Spring fashion! Wear as a layer or on its own, to mow the lawn or to grab a drink with a buddy. This practical piece should be your new go to.
Western
Adding a little yee-haw to your outfit isn’t just for Texans this season. Take the trend super literal with decorated shirt yokes and ten gallon hats, or give a subtle nod with a western inspired collar. It’s all up to you, cowboy.
Yellow
Hello sunshine! Spring should be bright and happy and so should be your clothing! Bold golden yellow was the hue apparent, which thankfully looks better on more of us than its pale yellow stepbrother.
Polos
Another continuing favorite of recent seasons, polos are in and for every occassion. Styling Tip: Button-up all the way for a dressier look, or layer a t-shirt under a slightly unbuttoned full placket polo for a cool casual vibe.
Ties
There is something about a guy in a tie. I don’t know if it’s the air of a man in charge, or something slightly more indecent, but both work for me. Ties were mostly seen in modern-traditional styles, so you’re going to want to look for ties with a width between 3-3.25in.
The Topcoat
Cleaner than the trench and lighter than an overcoat, a pale tan topcoat in a lightweight cotton is the perfect layer for cooler Spring days and evenings.
Puffer Vests
In Spring? I know- but it looks cool and gives you a little padding while you work to get your beach bod back. Wear a puffer vest with shorts or sport one in a lighter colorway to make the outfit feel seasonally smart!
Trends come & go, but I’ll leave you with 3 rules to keep in mind always, regardless if you’re updating your closet with the latest trends or not.
3 Live By Rules for Fashion Success
1) Fit is Everything. Be high level familiar with if the current look is fitted or relaxed, wide or skinny, etc. It’s also important that you are dressing for your body- nothing looks less stylish than an outfit that is too big or too small.
2) Quality Matters. Spending more on the staples will translates to better fit, better fabrics, and longer lifetimes. Guys, your fashion doesn’t change as often as ours, so you have way more likelihood of getting payback on your investments! For key pieces, ditch the alligator arms.
2) Shoes Make It! Every guy should own a stylish pair of lifestyle sneakers (aka, not intended for exercise or yard work) for dressing down an outfit, and soft brown leather driving shoes or loafers for dressing up an outfit.
